Since moving to the Bay Area, I’ve been incredibly lucky to have met some of the most creative individuals this city has to offer. I’m even luckier that I get to call one of them my friend. Meet Annie of Wonder Turner Calligraphy – an SF (born and raised) based artist that specializes in hand lettering. Her unique style lends perfectly well with her vintage finds that she’s collected over the years, and it was a dream to be able to capture her in her element.
When Previously Owned by a Gay Man (best company name ever btw) approached me to do a shoot, I knew immediately how well POBAGM would pair up with Annie’s delicate pieces. The online marketplace knew about our shoot and specially curated a few decor items that complimented her new Sunset apartment perfectly. PS. Her roomie MADE that gorgeous palette coffee table that you’ll see in the set as well– I can’t make this stuff up.
I can’t thank POBAGM enough for providing the wonderful items! Love what you see in this set? I’ve attached a buyable link to each item and trust me, you’ll want to check out the rest of their site too.

Last, but not least from the unWorkshop Slumber Party was the family session featuring the Busch family. Talk about #squadgoals because it seriously does not get any cuter than this bunch. We all trotted around with them in gorgeous Balboa Park snapping their photos and awwing at all the adorable things these kiddos said and did.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the unWorkshop because it has really opened my eyes and mind to so much. If ever greeted with a great opportunity to step out of your comfort zone, do it. You’ll be so glad you did!
Day 2 of the unWorkshop Slumber Party was spent capturing the coolest duo in San Diego: Tawnee (of Urban Shindigs) and Luis (DJ the Beast) at Belmont Park. Not too sure how they were able to handle 8 girls all up in their faces with cameras, but they handled it like champs and looked gorgeous in every damn photo.
I can’t rave enough about Sarah and Kaye for hosting the unWorkshop Slumber Party. If you’re interested in the best f’ing time of your life with some badass girl bosses of photography, sign up immediately for their next one on July 14-16. Details at: www.theunworkshop.com
Last month, I took a last minute chance at attending a photography workshop down in San Diego for a few days. When I say last minute, I mean… last minute because I talked to J about it, requested the time off work and bought a RT plane ticket in the span of about an hour. It was completely out of my comfort zone and I was so nervous, but now I can honestly say a month later, it was one of the best spontaneous things I’ve ever done.
Ran by Sarah of This Rad Love and Kaye of Oh Kaye! Love, the unWorkshop Slumber Party was a long weekend filled with informative classes, actual shoots and mentors who were there at all times of the day/night to answer any question. It was also a great chance to meet ladies in the photography field who are already working (and killing it, by the way) that I would never have had the honor of meeting.
I’ll be sharing photos from the two shoots in the next couple of posts so stay tuned for that. One is a couple session and the other, a family session. For this set, just a few shots of things going on at Sarah’s house and also some rad headshots we got to take of each other.
